One of the best specials on Grand Tour or even Top Gear. The visuals with breathtaking landscapes, the journey, the banter. Everything was perfect. Highly recommended.

Yes! I watched it last night, and it’s definitely one of their best ever.

I waited for the day they built their own car for a trip. This is better than my imagination.

In the credits, special thanks is given to “Howard Marshall Engineering,” but their website isn’t much more than a UK John Deere dealership.

Agreed, it was fantastic! I can’t believe how durable John was!

I’m curious as to how much they actually built themselves. Obviously most of their project vehicles are done with outside help, but this one was simple enough that they might have actually been able to do the build (especially when they needed to film the Hammond and May installing some of the key components).

Could be quite a bit because it’s rather simple. However, due to logistics and time with the crew filming them, I highly doubt they didn’t get help off camera.

Feed the World Special in S2 was pretty great. Looking forward to starting season 3 and eventually watching this. The specials are definitely significantly better than the regular show. But I thought that about Top Gear as well. I’m glad Grand Tour has turned out to be not shit.

It was awesome, seemed to be fairly legitimate, though a few times you can tell they took the tougher route. But overall, it was a very, very good episode and probably my favorite special. I really enjoyed the Vietnam and Bolivia specials, but I do feel this one was more solid overall.
And then there is John, I want, no, I NEED a John. I will be looking into potentially building one with a friend or two at some point.
